VILLANELLE

VILLANELLE are a UK-based grunge-leaning rock band formed in summer 2023 by friends Gene Gallagher (vocals/guitar), Ben Taylor (guitar) and Jack Schiavo (bass). Sitting at the forefront of a new wave of grunge revivalism, the trio blend raw authenticity with swaggering, hook-driven rock and roll. Drawing influence from Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr and The Who, their sound balances lo-fi grit with arena-ready intensity. After selling out shows before releasing music, debut single Hinge and follow-ups Measly Means and Placebo set the tone for their forthcoming debut EP.
