Coolie Ranx (Pilfers & Toasters)

Coolie Ranx is a dynamic force in the world of ska and reggae, having played pivotal roles in two legendary New York City-based bands: The Toasters and Pilfers.

For many years, Coolie Ranx was the frontman of The Toasters, a band widely recognized as the premier ska group in the United States. The Toasters are credited with pioneering the ska movement in America, paving the way for countless bands and helping to bring the genre into the mainstream.

After his time with The Toasters, Coolie Ranx formed Pilfers, a groundbreaking band that introduced the world to a unique genre called "Raggacore." This infectious sound blends pop, reggae, dub, hardcore, and ska into an exhilarating musical experience. Pilfers became known for their high-energy live shows, where crowd participation was encouraged, creating an electric atmosphere that fans—affectionately known as the Pilfers Crew—continue to cherish.

In recent years, Coolie has further explored his creative boundaries with solo projects. His 2023 release, "Days Gone By," was a solo Raggacore project that felt like a natural continuation of the path Pilfers had been heading toward, blending elements of reggae and ska with introspective, slower tempos.
Looking ahead, Coolie's newest project marks a departure from his Raggacore roots. With an English-influenced Lovers Rock Reggae sound, are “Miracle and Crayz”. His upcoming full-length album, set for release between mid-summer 2025 and winter 2025, promises to offer a fresh musical experience for his ever-growing fanbase.
