Divina and Helena are two San Diego-based musicians known for their rich, genre-blending sound. With roots in jazz, soul, R&B, reggae, Afrobeat, and Latin music, their collaboration brings a rich depth and warmth to every performance. Known for their tight harmonies, thoughtful lyrics, and engaging stage presence, the duo creates an intimate listening experience that resonates with audiences.
Divina, lead vocalist of both the acclaimed World/Dub/R&B band Boostive and the rising Afrobeat/Cumbia/Soul project Mitchum Yacoub, brings a powerful voice and hypnotic live looping style to the mix. She’s graced stages alongside Bonobo, Thievery Corporation, Don Carlos, and GZA, drawing listeners in with her effortless blend of influences—from Erykah Badu and Cleo Sol to Amy Winehouse and D’Angelo. In her solo work, Divina blends raw soul with layered vocal production and live instrumentation, creating a sound that is simultaneously grounded and celestial. Her upcoming debut solo project expands on themes of healing, sensuality, and cultural rhythm.
Helena, backed by a dynamic 7-piece band, recently released her debut album Rococo Palace—an 8-track journey that showcases her sweet melodies and eclectic musicality. The album weaves together jazz, soul, R&B, Afrobeat, and Brazilian influences, reflecting seven years of artistic growth. In addition to her full band, Helena performs in solo, duo, and trio formats, offering a versatile and immersive experience across settings. Her performances, from Belly Up to The House of Blues, leave a lasting impression with lush arrangements and deeply felt emotion.
Together, Divina & Helena offer a feminine, soulful synergy—elegant, earthy, and unmistakably powerful.
