Coolie Ranx

Coolie Ranx is a prominent voice in ska and reggae, known for his work with two legendary New York City bands, The Toasters and Pilfers. As frontman of The Toasters, he helped drive the American ska movement, bringing the genre to wider audiences. He later formed Pilfers, pioneering the high-energy “Raggacore” sound, a fusion of pop, reggae, dub, hardcore, and ska that became known for electrifying live shows and a devoted fan community known as the Pilfers Crew.
Coolie voiced the iconic character Little Jacob in the blockbuster video game Grand Theft Auto IV. The character became one of the series’ most beloved figures, celebrated for representing authentic Caribbean sound system culture, loyalty, humor, and street wisdom; he was also featured in GTA V.
Today, Coolie Ranx continues to evolve musically. His upcoming full-length album explores an English-influenced Lovers Rock reggae style and is expected between mid-summer and winter 2026.
